Kendyl is 22 months old, old enough to be by herself for 2 minutes so I can brush my teeth, or so I thought. While brushing my teeth she comes walking into my bathroom and I notice dirt like smudge marks on her pants and then that same “dirt” on her left hand….yep, you guessed it. She went digging in her diaper. This is a first. We use cloth diapers making them a snug fit compared to disposables. I don’t know how she got in there but she did. I didn’t know what to do first. Do I pick her up to wash her hand(s) or do I take her pants off that are covered in poop?? Decisions, decisions. I took the pants off while holding her arm so she didn’t lovingly touch me with it then washed her hands only to notice there was some on her shirt. super. so she’s stripped and washed and I oh so fearfully go to investigate the living room where she was supposed to be mindlessly watching t.v. Praise the Lord there was only one little smudge mark on the couch and praise the Lord again for our hand-me-down couches that require couch covers that can be easily washed. Also, at the end of this clean-up process, while Kendyl is in diaper only (and the poopy one at that), my friend, Sarah, who was coming to watch her so I could go to my appointment calls to say she’s here. I have to go let her in the apartment building. So I take my white-trash-diaper-and-socks-only toddler down the hall and the stairwell to let Sarah and her daughter in. It was 9:30 am. That was a first and HOPEFULLY a last!! I did change the diaper before I left Kendyl to Sarah’s care but made Sarah dress her :). Yummy!
Yeah for some blog updates! I loved reading them. And this story is fantastic. Clara has just had one poop catastrophe (took off diaper after a nap and smeared it everywhere in her crib). I hope not to repeat that EVER! Those are the stuff memories are made of, though, right?
. Love you three!
glad you’ve only experienced that once…the boys love to paint with their poop…they go through a phase that lasts a couple of weeks…every couple of months. we are in that phase again…and it is exhausting.
